DIPLOMA IN

Social Work

The 3 year diploma programme is proposed on a unit basis. The programme operates within the framework of two semesters per year, with each semester comprising of 21 weeks in all.

Mode: Full-time

MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

S5 and Mature Applicants:

 

  • International Examinations: Grade C or better in IGCSE or equivalent in English (2nd Language) and Grade D or better in two other subjects at IGCSE level or equivalent

Mature Applicants:

 

  • A minimum of 3 years work experience in a Social Work-related field.

Work-Based Experience (WBE)

Learners will undergo work attachment at Social Services Department, Agency for the Prevention of Drug Abuse and Rehabilitation (APDAR), National Council for Children (NCC), Probation Services, Prison Services, President’s Village, Primary/Secondary Schools, Family Tribunal, Seychelles People Defense Forces (SPDF),  Housing  Section at MHILT and Seychelles National Youth Council (SNYC).  Learners will be required to complete a total of 40 weeks spread over 3 years.
