Physiotherapy is a medical profession which specializes in developing and maintaining people’s ability to move and function throughout their lives. They treat and prevent many problems caused by pain, illness, disability and disease, sport and work related injuries, ageing and long periods of inactivity. We are concerned with promotion, prevention, maintenance to promote health, quality of life, independent living by providing information on fitness, wellness, disease, impairment etc…The practice settings varies in the community, institutionalized and hospitalized care where various programs are offered based on individual needs.
It is said that a physician adds years to life while a Physiotherapists adds life to years.
The Diploma in physiotherapy course is aimed to train students who will be able to impart physiotherapy health services safely and effectively to society as a Physiotherapy Technician. Using practices of health promotion, functional diagnosis, prevention and treatment of dysfunction in different fields of medical science. Physiotherapy plays an important role in rehabilitating patient to his or her pre-disease status.
The course is a three-year program designed in modular format, each module focusing on various content areas as determined by the syllabus.
