Diploma in Environmental Health Sciences

The 3 year diploma programme is proposed on a unit basis. The programme operates within the framework of two semesters per year, with each semester comprising of 21 weeks in all.

Mode: Full-time

Graduates will be employed by various related organisations and ministries as:

  • Environmental health officer within MOH
  • Food inspector
  • Hygiene inspector
  • Health and safety inspector
  • Policy and planning officers with government Ministries
  • Quality control officers

MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

S5 and Mature Applicants:

  • International Examinations: Grade C or better in IGCSE or equivalent in English (2nd Language), Biology and Chemistry. AND
  • National Examinations: 60% or better in Mathematics.

Mature Applicants:

  • A minimum of 3 years work experience in a health-related field.

Work-Based Experience (WBE)

Learners will undergo work attachment at Public Health Authority, Seychelles Ports Authority, Seychelles Fishing Authority, Seychelles Public Transport Corporation,  SEYPEC, and Abattoirs (Public & Private) and Private Companies such as Skychef,  IOT and Seybrew and will be required to complete a total of 40 weeks spread over 3 years.
