Diploma in Biomedical Laboratory Sciences

The 3 year diploma programme is proposed on a unit basis. The programme operates within the framework of two semesters per year, with each semester comprising of 21 weeks in all.

Graduates will be able to work as Laboratory Technician in;

Hospital laboratories (Government & Private)

Public Health Laboratories (Government)

Manufacturing firms (Quality Control Laboratories; e.g. Seybrew; Indian Ocean Tuna Ltd; Seychelles Marketing Board)

The Veterinary service

Seychelles Bureau of Standards (SBS)

MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

S5 and Mature Applicants:

  • International Examinations: Grade C or better in IGCSE or equivalent in English (2nd Language), Biology and ChemistryAND
  • National Examinations: 60% or better in Mathematics.

Mature Applicants:

  • A minimum of 3 years work experience in a health-related field.
